Self-Evaluation

I would develop ideas for pieces of writing by throwing every topic that came to head on paper, then i choose from the handful of topics which one i want to write about and run with it. Some pieces of writing were tougher than the others, for example, the definition esaay was harder than usual for me because i wasnt used to it, it was wierd writing a whole essay describing a single word. On the other hand, the research paper was a breeze for me because i have done many other research papers throughout high school and middle school. I went to both Mrs. Dorn and Mr. Kitsmiller for help when i was stuck, they gave me good ideas to use. I beleive i have grown alot this semester as a writer because i was faced with challenges that i havent had to overcome before. I believe my most well rounded paper was probably the research paper, it wasnt too challenging and i knew how to write research papers before. I can confidentally say i know exactly how to write a definition paper successfully, but i could not have said that before this class.

I recieved my acceptance letter to The University of Toledo yesterday and i was beyond happy, I was waiting for that letter for months and im soo glad i finally got it. Now that im accepted, i know senioritis is going to start kicking in fast, but hopefully i can hang in there until graduation.

Winter break was awesome this year because i went to visit my family in St. Paul, and i havent seen them in a really long time. The two weeks went by way too fast, but it was definantely relaxing not having to worry about school. Also i got the Ipad 2 for christmas from my parents, which i wanted to get for a long time! So this christmas break was definantely an accomplishment.

Parents need to understand that their childrens lives arent as easy as they think, senior year can be really great, yet very stressful at times. I have so many things going on between work, school, college applications, college visits, ACT retakes and so much more. I rarely have any free time to do things that i enjoy anymore, but im not complaining about having too much to do, its just that parents think they are the only ones dealing with stress. Granted, they have alot more things to think about than i do, but that doesent mean you can put more stress on my shoulders. Im only 18!! this should be the time in my life where i can put my mind to rest, and just have fun. But i guess you can do that while having responsibilties too. Man, i wish i was a kid again.

I started to seriously think about saving more money and start saving more often after my math teacher showed us the benefits of putting a little money away every month. Saving even 20 dollars a month can grow exponentially in a savings account with interest. If i started saving half of my weekly check every month, then i could be a millionare by age 65. If you do the math then you'll understand the power of saving also. Living week to week with every check just isnt smart, and i know i'll thank myself when im too old to work!

Last night the undefeated Duke University came face to face with the undefeated Ohio State University. No one suspected the young  buckeye team to deliver such a severe spanking to the blue devils. There was no doubt that Ohio State showed up to play. They took the lead early in the game and never looked back, Duke was struggling to keep up the entire game. Infact, The Duke coach was interviewed after the game and he admitted that "he was really just trying not to lose by 30". But nothing could save Duke from their loss, the better of the two dominated. Im happy to see that even though Ohio State took a loss to Michigan on the gridiron, they jumped back and demolished the third best team in the nation on the court.

Friday night was definantly a night to remember, i was at work and i was cutting cheese for the pizzas. I was in a hurried state and i accidently cut my hand. I left a pretty big gash and went to the hospital to get it checked out. I had to get five stitches to keep my skin together. It didnt really hurt too bad but i was more concerned about not being able to finish my shift. Right now, my hand is doing alright, i need to go back in a week and get the stictches out. Hopefully the cut will be able to heal by then.
